Mark Your Calendars for June 3

On Saturday, June 3, we are offering three great (free!) reasons to visit the PoCo Muse throughout the day:

Living History From 11a-2p, our cadre of living history reenactors will be interpreting the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), a “New Deal” work relief program that gave young men and veterans employment on environmental projects during the Great Depression. Camp Calumet, Company 1583, of the CCC was located in Valparaiso from 1935 until 1942.
Fire History Tour At 2p, join Executive Director Kevin Matthew Pazour for a walking tour that explores some of the impactful fires that shaped downtown Valparaiso. The tour will begin at the PoCo Muse and last approximately an hour.
New Exhibit Our newest exhibit, Ever Yours: Postcards from the Golden Age (seen above) is now open. (If you’re visiting at noon, stick around for Quinn’s weekly free guided tour.)

Ever Yours: Postcards from the Golden Age Now Open!

View hundreds of postcards from the PoCo Muse’s extensive collection of postcards from the Golden Age (1907-1915). Learn what these beautiful and accessible historical documents teach us about social fascinations of a distant past and how we communicate with each other today.

Lowenstine WWII Roll of Honor

The Lowenstine WWII Roll of Honor was displayed on the courthouse square from 1943 until 1973 in commemoration of the Valparaiso citizens who contributed to the war effort during World War II. It was installed in the PoCo Muse in December 2022.
