About the Image
Hazel and Vin Hannell printed their own linocut Christmas cards every year, and the practice provides another great example of how closely knit was their life and work. Some of the cards sent to family and friends are self-portraits, while others illustrate more generic holiday sentiments. Their playful nature shows a side of the couple that may not be evident in their other work. Many of the original blocks still exist, like these from the PoCo Muse Collection, and the printed cards themselves remain beloved keepsakes to those who received them.
