Explore the Stagecoach Inn

  • Stagecoach Inn 127 North Main Street Hebron, IN, 46341 United States (map)

Not much is known about this undated Main Street image from Hebron, but the Stagecoach Inn appears in the background in its original format.

During the two-week PoCo Muse closure for exhibit changeover, we will be hosting events at other county history institutions.

Ever wonder what's inside the two-story, wood-frame structure with green shutters on Main Street in Hebron? Come explore the Stagecoach Inn and find out!

The building was constructed in 1849 by James McCune for use as a way-station along the stagecoach route between Detroit and St. Louis. The Alyea family purchased the property in memory of Sgt. Donald Alyea (1925-1944) during the late 1940s and eventually gifted it to Hebron's Parks and Recreation Department for use as a community museum.

Enjoy free admission during your visit and learn more about the history of Hebron and its surroundings.
