Not much is known about this undated Main Street image from Hebron, but the Stagecoach Inn appears in the background in its original format.
During the two-week PoCo Muse closure for exhibit changeover, we will be hosting events at other county history institutions.
Ever wonder what's inside the two-story, wood-frame structure with green shutters on Main Street in Hebron? Come explore the Stagecoach Inn and find out!
The building was constructed in 1849 by James McCune for use as a way-station along the stagecoach route between Detroit and St. Louis. The Alyea family purchased the property in memory of Sgt. Donald Alyea (1925-1944) during the late 1940s and eventually gifted it to Hebron's Parks and Recreation Department for use as a community museum.
