This image of the main Specht-Finney Department Store window boasts the message, “Merry Xmas - Happy New Year,” but we know from a pencil notation that the image was taken on October 26, 1918, for placement in the souvenir box at the “new” federal post office (which now serves as Valparaiso City Hall). The entire box and its contents (including this image) are now part of the PoCo Muse Collection.
